Many people remain largely unaware of psoriasis, but if you're one of the estimated four and a half million people in the United States who suffers from it, you already know it's a condition you wouldn't wish on anyone.
And it's a growing problem... with 150,000 reported new cases of psoriasis every year in the USA alone, psoriasis is a significant health concern. A similar percentage of the population in the UK, Australia and Canada also suffer from the condition.
If you're one of the millions who suffer from psoriasis, you owe it to yourself to check out this new and eye-opening report.
Eighty Percent Of Sufferers Are "Fortunate"
Around 80% of all psoriasis sufferers have the most common form known as psoriasis vulgaris, which is characterized by irritating red skin lesions often found on the elbows and knees. Sometimes these areas will crack and bleed.
For most psoriasis sufferers at this level, the normal treatment recommended by doctors usually consists of topical creams or lotions based on substances such as corticosteroids. While these types of treatments are available in varying strength levels depending upon the severity of your psoriasis, prolonged use of corticosteroids may come with recognized adverse side-effects such as thinning of the skin and unnaturally dilated blood vessels just under the skin's surface... which can lead to an increased risk of infection through the damaged skin.
In more serious cases, systematic drugs - those that have to be ingested - might be prescribed and the adverse side-effects of these could potentially be even more harmful.
For example, one systematic drug that is still prescribed to this day is Methotrexate... and it's been known to cause liver damage.
A person who suffers from severe psoriasis will often have no choice but to rely on traditional medical treatments for the condition. In these more extreme cases, natural solutions simply won't be strong enough to properly treat it.
However, as I've recently discovered from reading "Psoriasis Essentials", there are a number of effective AND natural ways of dealing with psoriasis and the related condition, psoriatic arthritis, without all the negative side effects.
And while some of these natural treatments are comprised of topical creams containing all-natural ingredients, not every solution discussed in "Psoriasis Essentials" works in the same way... so there are plenty of natural options that you can try.
If you suffer from psoriasis and want to learn how to deal with your condition in a completely natural and harmless manner, "Psoriasis Essentials" is a must-read.
